The United States Capitol Building Rotunda is a 96 foot diameter circular room 180 feet high. The walls are curved sandstone. Wreaths of olive branches, 8 large historical paintings, 4 portrait busts and 4 relief pannels with historic colonial scenes over the 4 entrances, are divided by fluted Doric pilasters.
