The Las Vegas Strip

Casino gaming and gambling, Resort Hotels, Shopping, Shows and Entertainment

The stretch of road known informally as the Las Vegas strip runs only a few miles, but the casinos that dot its length make it one of the most recognizable streets anywhere in the world.

Las Vegas Strip night photo from the StratosphereFrom one end of the strip to the other there are fine restaurants and great shows that have helped to transformed Las Vegas from a gambling Mecca to an entertainment destination.
Meanwhile properties like New York, New York Hotel and Casino, Paris Las Vegas, Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, Caesars Palace, the Luxor Resort and Casino and others provide an atmosphere of exotic distant places all on one boulevard.
Stratosphere Casino Hotel & TowerKnown to the highway department and the state of Nevada simply as Las Vegas Boulevard, the Las Vegas Strip runs from Mandalay Bay and the posh Four Seasons on the south end to the brand new and luxurious Wynn Las Vegas resort and the towering Stratosphere at the north end.
In between lie a host of famous casinos and hotels, Stratosphere Towerincluding such notable properties as Treasure Island, the Venetian, the Mirage, the Bellagio, Excalibur, the Luxor and more.
Simply strolling up and down the famous Las Vegas strip brings visitors face to face with such amazing sites as a huge Egyptian style pyramid, a large scale replica of the Eiffel Tower,a convincing copy of King Arthur’s famous castle and a scale model of the Roman Coliseum.
Las Vegas Casino properties can be divided into two broad categories; those that evoke a distant place, idea or era (Paris, New York, Sahara, Excalibur, etc.) or those more oriented toward providing an experience not tied to other imagery which is what some of the newer properties (Wynn and Encore, Fontainebleau, etc.) are doing.
Shopping on The StripAs you become more familiar with the Strip its enjoyable to take note of the details, such as carpet patterns, that contribute to the overall impression of each place. Four hotels feature roller coasters and most have night clubs, extravagant stage shows and/or other entertainment options.
Brands on The Strip in neonThe Las Vegas strip is also home to a wide array of specialty shops, restaurants and retailers, including many large franchises and virtually every fast food chain in the country.
The Strip is four and half miles long, and runs from north to south. With so much to see and do on one boulevard several pages of photographs and information are required to begin to do it justice.
A photographic journey to each of the major hotel casino's and other attractions on Las Vegas Boulevard would begin with:
