This is a hole-in-the-wall place with about 15 seats (4 at a counter) that serves hearty good-sized burgers, buffalo wings, fish and chips, sandwiches, and salads a wonderful high-school student menu. The burgers are 1/3 lb, a little short of the 1/2 lb that I prefer, but the buns are large and the toppings generous, making quite a mouthful.

The younger-generation service is counter-style (no tip) and attentive. In keeping with its name, one can have a genuine buffalo-meat burger for an additional 85 cents. Also, one can have a double cheeseburger (i.e., 2/3 lb!) for an additional $2.50 to the 1/3-pounder, or $5.95 a great buy. It is not on the menu ask for it. Fries are extra at $1.35 and $2.35. The menu is mind-boggling, but it is all prepared on order, and fresh. There is even a veggie burger for vegetarians and fish and chips for non-carnivores.

Burgers 6-ozs of choice beef with a generous topping of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickle, ketchup. mustard, & mayonnaise (1000 islands on request) burger $3.45, with cheese $3.85, BBQ teriyaki burger $3.95, bacon, avocado, or garden-burger $3.95, Ultimate Burger (with bacon, grilled onions, avocado, and 3 kinds of cheese, on a roll $5.45. For genuine buffalo meat, add 85 cents to any of the above.

Chicken sandwiches (6 ozs. of chicken breast, with same toppings as burgers, on a sesame bun) $4.25, BBQ or spicy chicken $4.95, Chicken Supreme ( with grilled onions, bell-pepper, mushrooms, & Swiss cheese, on a roll) $5.25, Chicken Club (with bacon, mushrooms, avocado, & Swiss cheese, on a roll) $5.65, genuine buffalo breast (with bacon, grilled onions, avocado, and 3 kinds of cheese) $5.65.

Buffalo wings (served with crispy celery sticks and blue-cheese dip) mild, spicy, or extra spicy,5 pieces, $3.45, 5 pieces with chips $4.45, 9 pieces $4.95, 13 pieces $6.45, 26 pieces $12.50.

Salads potato or coleslaw, small $1.25, large $2.25, green $2.65/3.65, avocado $3.75/4.65, chicken or Greek $3.95/5.65.

Special combos, with soda and choice of fries, chips, coleslaw, or potato salad BBQ cheeseburger $5.95, grilled ham & cheese $5.95, fish sandwich with cheese $6.25, Philly steak or chicken $6.45.

Side orders or appetizers fries $1.45 & $2.35, chili cheese fries $3.25 & $3.95, soup $2.95, mozzarella cheese sticks (5 pieces) $3.25, breaded mushrooms or zucchini sticks (12 pieces) $3.25.

Note: Of course, nothing beats my all-time favorite for burgers, Sliders Diner (corner Polk & Sutter Sts, or Castro Street, next to the theater), but Buffalo Burgers is a good alternative. Also, fish and chips and buffalo wings are good bonuses.
