Here's Philip Claypool's story: He was raised in Memphis, Tennessee but came out West for college. What he missed most was the flavor-full, real hickory-smoked pulled-pork Memphis BBQ. As a country recording artist most of his later life, cooking was his passion. He returned often to Memphis and would visit different BBQ joints, delving into the secrets of the best chef's recipes. He developed his own recipe and decided to recreate his own Memphis BBQ. He started a catering company in the Napa Valley, where he gave concerts and did his own cooking, which was a hit. In San Francisco, he created a setting he considered reminiscent of the establishments he used to favor back home. He also concentrated on healthy products for his menu. He performs live every Thursday night from 8-10pm!
Claypool's BBQ restaurant is barebones, with a few tables and counter seats. Food is served on disposable plates, with disposable cutlery.
