Indian Buffets Update - Three with Evening Buffets

Indian buffets best meet my definition of Affordable Dining. The lunch buffets range in price from $5.95-7.95 and offer a large number of meat, appetizer, and dessert choices – all you can eat. A few include tea. But now there are three Dinner buffets, all at $7.95 – one which includes tea – with a large number of dishes. All of these restaurants also have extensve a la carte menus. Here are the three restaurants with evening buffets:

Star India, 2127 Polk St. (at Broadway), 292-6699, 5-11pm, 7 days, $7.95. The evening buffet includes two chicken dishes, one lamb, four vegetables, rice, mixed salad, rice pudding, two desserts, two appetizers, two soups, nan bread. No tea. Lunch buffet is $6.95 and includes tea. Choice is much the same as for evening.

Star India, 3721 Geary Blvd (Arguello), 668-4466, 5:30-10pm, 7 days, $7.95. Includes three meat dishes, five vegetable dishes, salad, rice, nan bread, two desserts, and tea. Lunch buffet is $6.95.

India Palace, 1740 Fillmore St (at Sutter), 567-7789, 5-11:30pm, 7 days, $7.95. Evening buffet includes one lamb curry, chicken masala, four vegetables, BBQ chicken, pilaf rice, two appetizers, one dessert, one salad, nan bread – and tea. Lunch buffet is $6.95, including tea.
