"Swine dining" refers to both the genre and the size of the portions. While most BBQ fans come hungry and want large portions, one serving can easily be shared. At most, two can add hand-cut fries, a small appetizer, or a dessert to the meal. Memphis Minnie's specializes in classic southern-style slow-smoked meats, fish, poultry, and southern-style salads.

This almost funky-looking place with 24 seats is located on the "hippy block" of Haight Street. Tables sport checkered tablecloths under glass, and multi-colored T-shirts hang on the serving side, making for a warm and cozy atmosphere. Service is prompt and friendly.


Starters include hand-cut BBQ fries $2.50/$3.40, smoky mountain wings $5.50, rib-tip or pork-rib appetizer $5.35.

Sandwiches (all $7.00, with one side dish) include choice of sweet-smoked pork, slow-smoked Texas beef brisket, Cajun andouille sausage, pulled spicy chicken, or smoked turkey breast. The "MINNIE'S BURGER" ($6.95) is a half-pound of Texas grilled beef, served with hand-cut fries.

Pit-Smoked Plates come with two sides and corn bread, and include St Louis-style smoked pork ribs $12.95, Texas big beef ribs $10.95, Memphis sweet-smoked pork $10.95, Texas beef brisket (smoked 18 hours), Cajun sausage $10.95, smoked turkey breast $11.95, smoked chicken plate $10.95. "Minnie's Taster", any three meats and two sides $15.95, fried catfish platter, with slaw and curly fries, $10.95. Meats can also be had by the pound and half-pound. There is a choice of sauces, mild to hot. One can also buy jars of sauce.

Sides include potato salad or slaw $2.25 & $5.00, greens or sweet potatoes $2.25 & $5.00, macaroni & cheese $2.50 & $6.00, corn muffin 75 cents.

Beverages include fountain drinks $1.50, root beer, cream soda, or Dr. Pepper $2.25, draft beer, pint, $3.50.

Dessert, all made from scratch on the premises, include pecan pie, $3.25, peach pie $3.75, sweet potato pie $3.25, banana pudding $3.25.

Memphis Minnie's also caters events for 50 persons up (no limit).
