Schnitzelhaus is a typical-looking German or Austrian small restaurant, with 45 seats, The cuisine is Austrian-German the cook owner is from Vienna and Munich. I first ate here about 10 years ago, and the food was good. It has since only improved in quality.

Prices are affordable if one includes the soup or salad which come with each dinner entree, certainly at least a $45 value, making some entrees e.g., goulasch & spaetzle at $11,50 dirt cheap. The draft beers here are a must, and at a good price.

Lunch (Fridays only). Entrees served with soup or salad $7.9511.75, e.g., knackwurst (sausage) with lentils and spaetzle $7.95, Nuernberger smoked sausages with sauerkraut & roast potatoes $7.95, smoked bratwurst with sauerkraut & roast potatoes $7.95, beef goulasch with spaetzle $7.95, stuffed German beef-roll with vegetables & roast potatoes $8.05, Wienerschnitzel with vegetables and roast potatoes $11.75.

Dinner. All dinner entrees including nine schnitzel dishes served with soup or house salad, and vegetables & spaetzle or vegetables & roast potatoes e.g., Wienerschnitzel $14.75, Jaegerschnitzel (hunters style) $14.75, rahmschnitzel (with cream sauce) $15.75, Zigeunerschnitzel (gypsy-style with green and red-pepper sauce) $15.95, Holsteiner schnitzel (with 2 sunnyside eggs served on top) $15.75, Cordon Bleu (with ham & cheese) $15.75.

Other German specialties served with soup or salad chicken in paprika sauce, with spaetzle $11.75, beef goulasch with spaetzle $11.75, pork roast with potato dumplings $13.75, pork leg with sauerkraut & dumplings $15.75, sauerbraten (marinated roast beef) with potato dumplings $15.75, Black Forest venison stew with spaetzle and cranberry sauce $16.50, rabbit in red-wine sauce, with spaetzle & cranberry sauce $15.75.

German sausages dishes served with lentils and roast potatoes or sauerkraut & roast potatoes knackwurst $10, bratwurst $10, frankfurters $10.75.

Small nosheries. Spaetzle with cheese and ham $10.75, German meatloaf with egg sunnyside-up & roast potatoes $10.75, potato pancakes & applesauce $8.50.

Vegetarian. Lentils & spaetzle $10.75, spaetzle with cheese $10.75, mushrooms in cream sauce & dumplings $11.75, fish of the day, with roast potatoes & tartar sauce $10.75.

Desserts. German chocolate cake $5, apple strudel with vanilla ice cream $5.

Beverages. Soft drinks are high, $2, apple cider or orange juice $2.50.

Beer is king here. Seven draft beers of 0.3 liter, 0.5 liter, and 1.0 liter are all $4, $4.50., & $8. They include Spaten, Kronbacher Pilsner, Koestritzer Dark beer, & Erdunger Wheat beer. Also, in bottles (in 0.3 & 0.5 liter) at same price as draft Bitburger, Paulander, and others.

Wine. Domestic wines (Chardonnay, Merlot, or Cabernet) are $18.50 a bottle and $6 glass, German or Austrian wines $23.50 bottle and $7 glass. Austrian wines are from high-sun regions, hence recommended. Corkage $10.00.
