![]() The Burr Mansion at 1772 Vallejo Street—off Gough two blocks from Union Street in San Francisco's Cow Hollow neighborhood—was built in 1875 by Mayor Ephraim Burr for his son and daughter-in-law. Burr had been stranded in SF during the Gold Rush. Contrary to some reports, he was not a ships Captain.
