Livermore Valley Winery Tasting Room
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
At the end of Greenville Road, down a narrow lane, the tasting room hides in a nook in the hills. The bright, cheery room is wine-country motif, with vines, cabinets, locally created gifts, and tabletops on barrels. “It doesn’t matter that this is the end of the road;” owner Dick Bartlett says, “they keep coming.” This is a three-generation family operation. Dick, a former excavator, and his son, winemaker Randy, built the tasting room in 90 days, the lovely patio over time.
Dick and Bonny Bartlett began their association with wines when they agreed to warehouse barrels and case goods in their large barn for neighboring wineries. One day, Randy suggested they open their own winery and name it after dad (Charles Richard, hence Charles R.). Bonnie oversees the business side of the winery.
Randy uses 100 percent Livermore grapes, and American and French oak barrels. Depending on how he barrel-blends, Randy can create wines with the spice up front, smoothing out at the end or visa versa or with spice all through. His results are winning awards.
Fascinating Fact:
Dick and Bonnie bought here because Bonnie told Dick long ago that she wanted a house on a hill, which is where their house sits.
