Livermore Valley Winery and Tasting Room
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
Find this off-the-beaten-path, urban winery, near the Livermore airport and in an industrial complex. It’s well worth the effort.
The tasting room—a fireplace, beautiful wine bar, drop lights, a hutch—evokes a cozy living room, all of it built and designed by owners Phil and Debra Long.
He, an executive director for a large design/marketing firm, and she, a Danville Chamber of Commerce manager, create wines in the facilities back of the tasting room.
The Longs’ education began when they visited wineries all over California to gather fine wines from different appellations for members of their Longevity wine club. Over the years they took meticulous notes, learning from many winemakers. Phil says, “It’s amazing how fast your palette develops when you are tasting wine all the time.”
The Longs began making wine in their garage, eventually moving to their current location. They barrel age reds for 24 to 36 months, and in the bottle a minimum of a few months. Currently producing about 1,000 cases, their goal is 2,500 after five years, and someday to have their own vineyard.

The winery’s moniker Longevity is a take on the owners’ name—Long.
