Third largest Livermore Valley Winery
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
Take the Kalthoff Common turn off of Vallecitos Road, and you’ll drive through an ocean of vineyards with large Tuscan-style homes here and there. Three barrels mark the driveway to Tenuta Winery.
There the tasting room is large—a slate floor, tall ceilings, walls of art, a curved bar atop wine barrels, and couches where Butters the cat lies.
Take the tour. You’ll be surprised at the size of this modern winery built into the side of the hill. It’s the third largest in Livermore—after Wente and Concannon.
When Nancy Tenuta plunged into winemaking, she went whole hog, found a woman winemaker to help her get the equipment for a large winemaking facility and to teach her the art of winemaking.
Nancy, one of a growing number of women winemakers, has a background in finance, which taught her diversification. This is why she went big, offering services to other wineries—custom crushes, barrel storage and vineyard maintenance—and a beautiful setting for events.
Tenuta is the first Livermore winery to offer estate grown Pinot Noir.
