Forchini Proprietors Reserve 2000 Zinfandel

Dry Creek Valley

Forchini Zinfandel wine label

Estate Grown & Bottled
spacer
This wine is produced from 90 year old vines grown on our elevated east Dry Creek Bench vineyard. These magnificent dry farmed vines are a living testament to the unique combination of this old Zinfandel clone grafted to St. George rootstock.

The blend is 91% Zinfandel co-fermented with 9% Carignane for added softness and complexity. The wine was fermented in open top stainless steel fermenting tanks using manual punch down for extraction of color and flavor. Cultured yeasts and bacteria were used to obtain desirable flavors and to aid a complete primary and malo lactic fermentation.

The wine was aged 18 months in 33% new American oak & 67% neutral French oak barrels then lightly filtered prior to bottling.

This is a well balanced wine with rich fruit flavors and a full bodied supple structure. It provides a smooth finish on the palate and is a great dinner wine that pairs well with all types of red meats and hearty sauces.
