The 2000 Russian River Valley Zinfandel was produced from our own hillside vineyard near the town of Guerneville. The fruit was crushed and fermented warm, pumping juice from the tank bottom over the cap of floating skins on a regular basis. The wine was pressed off the skins near the end of the fermentation and allowed to finish fermenting in 60 gallon American oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation completed in the barrel as well. The wine was barrel aged a total of 18 months.

This wine is medium bodied with bright fruit and ripe, jammy flavors over a framework of oak toast. Ready to drink now, this wine should continue to improve over the next 3-5 years.
