The 2001 Estate Zinfandel offers a beautifully balanced approach to Zinfandel with a gorgeous and complex array of flavors and aromas luscious bittersweet cocoa, ripe black cherry, with hints of fresh plums and boysenberries. This full-bodied wine gains depth and length on the finish with toasted vanilla, cherries, crushed dark spices and sweet French oak that sing on the palate.

The little bit of Petit Syrah and Carignane naturally occurring in the vineyard contribute to the well-rounded and balanced flavors and bouquet of this extraordinary Dry Creek Zin. Only 650 cases were made and reports from true Zin-ofiles at ZAP and elsewhere suggest this could be the next cult wine from Sonoma. Drinkable now but in there for the long haul, too.
