1998 Hop Kiln Zinfandel
Old Windmill Vineyard
This bottling marks the first of an estate grown Zinfandel named for the old windmill located in the middle of the vineyard overlooking the Russian River. We believe that much of a wine is made in the vineyard and this vineyard is distinctive because of the age of the vines, its hillside location and particular terroir. A richly concentrated wine showing flavors of brambly, raspberry fruit.
Steve Strobl has been winemaker and vineyard manager at Hop Kiln since1984 and winning awards ever since.
