Napa California Wine Bar, BBQ & Retail Shop
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
The Bounty Hunter is truly one of a kind. It’s the latest offshoot of a multi-category fine wine company founded in 1994 by former pharmaceutical company executive Mark Steven Pope.
His first wine venture, the highly-successful Bounty Hunter Catalog, now reaches 2.5 million people worldwide. In 2003 Pope began producing his own wines sourced from Napa grapes; they cover a range of price points and are all highly-acclaimed (and, of course, they are all featured in the Bounty Hunter Catalog).
In 2003 Pope also opened Bounty Hunter in downtown Napa. Sporting a cowboy theme, it’s a combination wine bar, wine store, BBQ eatery, and lively hangout all rolled into one.
The vast wine selection allows you to order more than 40 different wines by the glass (or 400 by the bottle). Most are highly-rated, small-production California wines, although you’ll find selections from elsewhere around the planet. Wine flights and artisan beers are also available, and Guinness is on tap.
If you’re hungry, no problem: there’s a full lunch and dinner menu (popular favorites include Beer Can Chicken and St. Louis-style BBQ ribs), and specials like “Cheeseburger Wednesdays,” where your burger comes with a flight of Napa red wines.
Fascinating Fact:
Owner Pope’s love of the Old West accounts for all the cowboy curios in the bar. If you dare, relax in one of the saddles that’s been fashioned into a bar stool.
