Multi-winery Tasting Bar in a Historic Napa Building
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
Raised in France, Garret Murphy came to Napa Valley years ago as a restaurant consultant for Auberge du Soleil and Meadowood.
Before long, his growing interest in wine set him to dreaming about opening a shop that featured notable wines.
The result: in 2002 he opened Vintner’s Collective, which provides tasting space for more than a dozen small, artisan wineries inside Napa’s oldest stone building (constructed in 1875). Inside, the décor is pure “wine chic,” with a comfy, casual, and decidedly upscale feel.
The wines produced by members of Vintner’s Collective tend to receive high ratings from major wine publications, something that is reflected in the price of most wines here. So if you’re looking for cheap wine, you’ll probably be disappointed. But if you want to sample a range of high-end wines at a relatively low tasting cost, this is the place to come
Fascinating Fact:
The beautiful sandstone Pfeiffer Building, which houses Vintner’s Collective, was originally a brewery. It later served as a saloon and brothel. There is ample seating upstairs and a second floor deck in back in addition to the ground floor level wine bar.
