Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
The complex roots of the Napa Wine Company date back to 1877 and are intertwined with Napa Valley history.
The story begins with two adjacent wineries founded fifteen years apart: the Brun & Chaix Nouveau Medoc Winery (1877) and the Madonna Winery (1892). Over the decades the two wineries frequently changed hands and were ultimately combined.
In 1993, the Pelissa family—long-time Napa residents—bought the property. While they produce their own wine under the Napa Wine Company label, they also run a state-of-the-art custom crush facility for boutique wineries that include Adastra Wines, Pahlmeyer, and Michael Pozzan.
A visit here puts you in the center of all this history, including the original 1877 and 1892 buildings (architecturally united in 1977).
Even better, the tasting room gives you a unique opportunity to try not only the excellent wines of the Napa Wine Company, but those of the smaller and much sought-after labels made here. You’ll get to select 5 wines for tasting from a larger menu of 10 wines (the menu changes weekly).
Fascinating Fact:
The 1877 Brun & Chaix Nouveau Medoc Winery on this site was only the ninth winery bonded by the State of California.
