Bill Hill's Napa Valley Winery on the Silverado Trail

San Francisco Wine Tours

Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours

The founder of Bighorn Cellars, William Hill, realized more than three decades ago that the hillsides of Napa Valley produce premium grapes. In 1978 he founded his first winery, William Hill, which became extremely successful. Bill Hill sold his namesake winery in 1992, and two years later created Bighorn Cellars to go back to basics—that is, to produce small batches of handcrafted wines while paying strict attention to small details.
Visitors in search of glamorous surroundings may be disappointed here, as the simple tasting room is small and rustic. However, it possesses a pleasant and intimate feel, and the patio overlooking the vineyards is beautiful.
If you’re coming here to sample the excellent wines, you’ll probably be happy indeed.

Fascinating Fact:

William Hill has been named by Wine Spectator as one of the 50 most influential wine industry players in the world.
