Silverado Trail Winery and Tasting Room in the Napa Valley
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
Casa Nuestra is a small-production winery (about 2000 cases annually) owned by the Kirkham family. All the grapes that go into the winery’s eclectic lineup are produced on the family’s Napa vineyards.
Some of the wines you’ll find here are unusual, especially those made from the old-style, one-of-a-kind “field blends.” Such blends are the result of a vineyard being planted with several varieties of grapes—something that was common in earlier times.
The small winery has a strong 1960s hippy allure. It’s laid back and a bit funky, with two acres of sunflowers, two grazing Nubian goats, and a few people-friendly dogs.
The tasting room, filled with Elvis memorabilia and news clippings about Mother Theresa and Nelson Mandela, softly plays old Blues and Rock. All wine bottles display a drawing of a dove wrapped around a peace symbol.
Fascinating Fact:
Elvis Presley filmed the opening scene to Wild in the Country (1962) on this property.
