A Napa Valley Winery and Tasting Room
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
One of the most stunning wineries on the Silverado Trail, Chateau Boswell is an elegant stone building with gabled roofs, turrets, and stained glass windows.
In short, it looks something like a Renaissance castle—the perfect backdrop for organic wine made in an old-fashioned way, in small and hand-crafted lots.
Chateau Boswell’s first winemaker was the legendary André Tchelistcheff; a mentor to Robert Mondavi and other top winemakers of an earlier generation, he had direct influence on today’s style of California wines (particularly Cabernet Sauvignon, one of two wines made here).
The location of Chateau Boswell is particularly serene and quiet, with endless views of Napa Valley below and the hills beyond. The winery, designed by founder R. Thornton Boswell, was made with hand-quarried stone from the Silverado Trail.
The beautiful tasting room is within the extensive cave system, which was tunneled from solid stone. Expect an intimate and thorough experience during a seated tasting here, which will last about one hour.
