Napa Valley Winery on the Silverado Trail
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
Founded in 1973, this winery was named for its location next to Conn Creek (near the Rutherford Crossroad). Conn Creek focuses solely on Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux-styled red wines, producing fewer than 5,000 cases annually and consistently receiving top scores. Conn Creek Winery is owned by Washington-based Ste. Michelle Wine Estates.
The winery’s Mediterranean architecture, surrounded by gardens, fits into the landscape beautifully.
The attractive tasting room and adjoining gift shop have a welcoming feel. But one of the best reasons to come here is to experience the one-of-a-kind Barrel Blending Experience in the AVA Room.
While overlooking the Mayacamas Mountains you’ll have the opportunity to sample representative Cabernets from vineyards in most of Napa Valley’s 14 distinctive sub-appellations (known as AVAs), giving you a taste survey of terroir.
The Cabs are categorized so that you’ll start off softly and end up in the land of the bold and full-flavored. Other Bordeaux varietals—Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Merlot—can also be tasted from the barrel. After blending your own wine, you can take a bottle home.
Fascinating Fact:
Sometimes you can get a free tasting coupon if you visit the Conn Creek Website & sign up for their mailing list.
