Napa Valley Winery on the Silverado Trail
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
Rutherford Ranch was founded in 1978 as Round Hill Winery by the Van Asperen family. When they retired 22 years later, they sold the winery to Marko and Theo Zaninovich, who renamed the winery in 2005.
Today Rutherford Ranch maintains four different labels: Rutherford Ranch, Round Hill, Scott Family Estates, and Lander Jenkins. All four labels are known for producing high-quality value wines. In fact, famed wine writer Robert Parker put three Rutherford wines on his list of “The World’s Best Wine Values Under $25” (Rutherford Ranch Chardonnay, Rutherford Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon, and Rutherford Ranch Rhiannon Red Wine).
The simple tasting facilities are surrounded by a 100-year-old olive grove, and Cabernet Sauvignon is planted on the grounds. It’s a pleasant place to relax and enjoy some wine.
Fascinating Fact:
Rutherford produces 100% Extra Virgin cold-pressed olive oil from its century-old olive grove under the Ecco label.
