Silverado Trail winery with views of the Napa Valley
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
The Signorello family purchased 100 acres on the Silverado Trail back in the 1970s, and for years grew grapes for use by acclaimed Napa wineries such as Caymus and Cakebread. But the 1985 harvest was so plentiful that they ended up with grapes left over and decided to make a small batch of wine.
Produced from such excellent grapes, the wine turned out to be spectacular and voila! The family passion for making limited quantities of premium varietals was born. Signorello’s wines consistently score in the 90s and are frequent competition winners (the website lists an impressive array of awards).
Aside from a chance to sample Signorello’s first-class wines, a visit to the winery’s hilltop location offers stupendous views of the Valley. The road leading upwards travels past vines and is lined with stately junipers and plump plum trees.
Sitting beneath a large umbrella on the rear terrace of the elegant Mediterranean-style winery you’ll gaze over an infinity pool, past vineyards and the valley floor, to the mountains beyond.
It’s a fantastic, photo-worthy view!
