Sparkling wine & Michelin star restaurant in Yountville CA
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
With so many excellent things to do, taste, and see, Domaine Chandon is one of the most popular destinations in Napa Valley.
This winery is known largely for its sparkling wines, which are derived from three varietals: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
On a visit here you’ll enjoy wine flights and small plates in the stylish, barrel-roofed lounge or out on the umbrella-shaded patio.
Splendid art is everywhere (the whimsical stone “mushroom garden” that first greets you is famous). Domaine Chandon takes wine education seriously, which is reflected in the many informative displays throughout the public rooms and in the variety of behind-the-scenes tours. Popular events include music on the terrace, tastemaker dinners, and a very bubbly New Year’s Celebration.
The winery’s restaurant, étoile, possesses a Michelin star. Expect both innovative and traditional cuisine, crafted to pair with Domaine Chandon wines (suggested pairings are on the menu). The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner five days a week (closed Tuesday-Wednesday).
Fascinating Fact:
Domaine Chandon is a subsidiary of French champagne house Moët et Chandon, founded in 1743. Both companies are owned by the world’s largest luxury group: Moet-Hennessy/Louis Vuitton.
