Winery surrounded by vineyards in Yountville, CA
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
Back in 1978, the parents of Geoff Gorusch planted Goosecross land with vineyards, eventually producing grapes fine enough to be purchased by top-tier wineries.
After college in San Diego, Geoff, undecided about a career, entered the business—which turned out to be the right thing to do. A few years later his friends David and Colleen Topper joined him, and today Geoff is winemaker and VP of Operations, David is President and CEO, and Colleen handles PR.
The small tasting room—a short drive from “downtown” Yountville into the surrounding vineyards—is situated in a barrel room behind a private residence.
The pours are generous, and this is one of the few places where you can actually buy Goosecross wines (the others are via the website store, through the wine club, and in downtown Napa’s wine collective, Wineries of Napa Valley).
A few items are for sale at the winery, including chocolate-dipped Goosecross Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon wine bottles (your choice of milk or dark chocolate).
Fascinating Fact:
Goosecross produces an informative and entertaining wine podcast available for free download from their website or the iTunes store (search for “Napa Valley Wine Radio”).
