Yountville, CA winery named for two daughters
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
After years as a consulting winemaker at high-profile wineries in Napa and Sonoma Counties, Charles Hendricks knew the time had come to realize a long-held dream: he wanted to make wines of his own. The opportunity arrived in 2001.
Offered the chance to purchase superior Pinot Noir grapes, he didn’t hesitate. Wondering what to name his new winery, Hendricks found himself pondering the question of what was important in his life. Immediately the names of his two daughters, Hope and Grace, came to mind—and he had the perfect name.
Between his duties as proprietor and winemaker, the busy Hendricks continues his outside consulting in the wine industry.
The small Hope & Grace Winery tasting room in Yountville has an easy-going, comfortable vibe. With its couches, lounge music, rotating art exhibits and beautiful garden view, it’s the kind of place you’ll be happy to relax and stay for a while. You can taste at the stone bar or outside on warm days. Wine and cheese pairings are available.
Fascinating Fact:
The Hope & Grace wine label is derived from a painting owned by Hendricks, “Figure in Red.” It was painted by noted San Francisco Bay Area figurative artist, Charles Eckart.
